At  Search Africon, we are committed to creating a safe environment for all participants. We believe that everyone should be able to attend our events and conferences without fear of harassment or discrimination.

Our Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct applies to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and organizers of Search Africon events, both online and in person. It is designed to foster a respectful and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their background, or beliefs.

Unacceptable Behavior

We will not tolerate any form of harassment or discrimination, including but not limited to:

  • Verbal comments or jokes that are offensive or hurtful
  • Unwelcome physical contact or advances
  • Sexual harassment or assault
  • Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender,  religion, or any other personal characteristic
  • Stalking or following
  • Threatening or intimidating behavior

 

Positive Behavior

We encourage all participants to be respectful and considerate of others. Here are some tips for creating a positive and inclusive environment:

  • Be mindful of your language and avoid using offensive or hurtful terms.
  • Respect other people’s personal boundaries.
  • Be inclusive and welcoming to people from all backgrounds.
  • If you see something that you think is inappropriate, say something to the person affected or to a member of the event staff.

Reporting Harassment

If you are being harassed or you see someone else being harassed, please report it immediately. You can report harassment to any organizer of the event, or you can Email us at support@searchafricon.com

Confidentiality

All reports of harassment will be kept confidential. We will not disclose any personal information about the complainant or the alleged harasser without the complainant’s consent.

Enforcement

We will take all reports of harassment seriously. If we find that someone has violated this Code of Conduct, we may take any action we deem appropriate, including but not limited to:

  • Issuing a warning
  • Asking the person to leave the event
  • Banning the person from future events

 

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all participants, speakers, sponsors, and Search Africon events organizers  both online and in person. It applies to all event-related activities, including but not limited to:

  • Sessions related to the formal agenda
  • Side events and social events
  • Parties
  • Informal gatherings at restaurants or bars
